LOCATION Cherokee County

Gaffney began as a tavern and lodging house at the major intersection of two major roads; one led to Charleston from the North Carolina mountains and the other led to Georgia from Charlotte. This strategic location led to Gaffney and the surrounding areas being a hotbed of Revolutionary War history that is still evident today.
