Greenwood is the best of both worlds; a vibrant Uptown district surrounded by amazing recreation opportunities like golf, fishing, and lakeside fun. A little bit small town Americana with a splash of prime time outdoor family fun...what we found in Greenwood is truly special.
uptown & lake greenwood
Located near one of the first battles in the American Revolution at Ninety-Six National Historic Site, Greenwood was a town that turned to cotton and textile manufacturing after the railroad came through in the 1850s. Today, the heart of Greenwood is in their "Uptown" area full of beautifully landscaped streets lined with shops, eateries, and places to visit like The Museum & Railroad Historical Center. To top it off, Greenwood is the setting for two popular events: BBQ chefs come from all over to feed the crowds during The Festival of Discovery BBQ & Blues, and the whole town literally blooms with topiary creations during the Festival of Flowers.
Lake Greenwood is a picturesque hotspot for fishing, golf, boating, and plain old fun in the great outdoors. Fed by the Saluda, Reedy, and Rabon Rivers, the Lake Greenwood Blueway provides a 34.1-mile trail with signage to guide you through the history and wildlife you will see here. Make sure to check out Lake Greenwood State Park for the perfect RV/tent camping spot.
